Sometimes it feels like we cannot escape rules - we either live in contexts in which rules are treated as blankets that make us feel safe and provide us with certainty, or we flee far away only to find a similar obsession with rules, just packaged a little differently. In either case, we often encounter inflexibility and dogmatism. Perhaps what we need is a different definition of ethics altogether....
